 D.Wright - Vocals/guitar TEAM formed in summer 2003 in Leicester, UK and were playing shows and releasing records in a matter of weeks. A tightly-wound, amped-up attack, the Leicester quartet nimbly traverse the rock face, leaping from hardcore to post-rock, from the dusty, shadowy stoner rock of ’50.000’ to the out-and-out pop magic of the Weezer-ish 'Dead Sharks’ Their 2004 debut ‘The Penalyn LP’ was recorded with the profits from smuggled cigarettes in a pig shed in deepest Leicestershire. Singer Dave had recently returned from a seven year stint as an RAF Captain, most recently based in Basra, Iraq. As a teenager, guitarist Scott meanwhile could run the 1500 metres faster than any female on the planet. It’s all gone to shit now they’re discovered the rock, mind…. 2005 has seen them tour the sordid grief-holes of the UK and release a killer single in the shape of ‘Resonate South’. They have also appeared as ‘Buzz Band Of The Month’, as voted for by Rock Sound readers, as well as a plethora of excellent compilation such on Play Dead magazine’s ‘The Shit’, Smalltown America’s ‘Public Service Broadcast’ compilation, Tasty fanzine’s ‘Volume 2’ and Silver Rocket’ SR50.
Live, TEAM are all about pummelling riffs and a pop sensibility buried deep within; four men feeling their own self-created power rising up through their feet. They tour incessantly. It's no surprise they live as far from the sea as you can get in the UK, their sound a dusty tightly-wound dust storm twisting across the landscape, but crucially - forever seeking out a melody.
