Captains Of Industry

is a loosely connected organisation of like-minded writers, musicians, artists, poets, publishers, record labels, producers, fanzines and other deviants of the artistic / altruistic process. Through a simple shared philosophy the collective aims to share resources and provide cross-cultural reference points in order to aid creative output and spread a message of opposition to those who misuse their positions of power - be they artistic, economic or political.

After five years setting musical fires across the suburbs of Briatin (and breyond), Kinesis are calling it a day - but not before they release this swansong album, an album that deftly seals their legacy at the mere age of 21.
Already praised by NME, Kerrang!, Rock Sound, The Fly etc 'You Are Being Lied To' mixes the guitar histionics of Muse with the same book-ish counter cultural intellect and machine gun lyrics and last seen with the Manic Street Preachers and Rage Against The Machine.

Elsewhere their are poignant moments of downbeat beauty akin to Bowie and Suede. Always intent on goping against the grain of the 'all surface / no substance' trends of rock music, Kinesis have done the unthinkable and split on a high.

Kinesis decided to call it a day and release the album through politically-active independent label (Captains Of Industry), who had forged links with the band since their iconception, Kinesis announced their split on the day of the album's release.

This then, is their epitaph.

Kinesis RIP 2000 - 20005

“Kinesis do leave their own distinctive blueprint throughout, with 'Perception Management' easily rivalling the timeless 'Billboard Beauty' as one of their finest moments, and the penultimate blast of 'A Prayer For Death' finally bringing the curtain down on their agit-rock manifesto.”
- DrownedinSound

“Heartbreaking…this record shows the fragility and emptiness of the rock ' n’ roll dream we all secretly harbour. Kinesis have to be applauded for having the balls and strength to make this album, one that has such conviction and honesty to put most other bands to shame.”
– Sounds XP

“Given time Kinesis have proved they can produce some stunning music.”
– Designer Punk
