Captains Of Industry

is a loosely connected organisation of like-minded writers, musicians, artists, poets, publishers, record labels, producers, fanzines and other deviants of the artistic / altruistic process. Through a simple shared philosophy the collective aims to share resources and provide cross-cultural reference points in order to aid creative output and spread a message of opposition to those who misuse their positions of power - be they artistic, economic or political.

PINK VINYL £3.00 (RRP £2.99)

Silicon Vultures formed in 2006, played a handful of shows then joined forces with Captains Of Industry label. They have previously played in a bunch of other bands.

Made available in January 2007, their debut download-only single ‘Sour Tits’ received strong support from Radio 1 and gained repeat plays from Daniel P Carter (Radio 1 Rock Show) and on the ‘Fresh Meat’ section of Zane Lowe.

Now comes this, the ‘Silicon Vultures EP’. 5 tracks of scorching synth-punk, it is their debut release proper and is limited to 1000 copies of vinyl only: 500 pink and 500 black. The lead track is ‘Howling Stallion Teenfeast’ though we’d recommend any of them. CD copies for review are available upon request.

Silicon Vultures have already gained a reputation as a fierce and colourful drum machine-driven live band with a strong aesthetic understanding. 2007 will see further releases and lots more shows.

They are Delaney Jae (vocals), Jordan Page (guitar/synth) and Buddy Hell (bass)

“Modern electric dance beats fused with healthy traces of hardcore punk heavily characterised by the guitar and synth, Silicon Vultures are offering something different with this release. Sharp punchy screaming vocals that can’t avoid getting in your face! Precise timings an overall tight sound, this is a band that could be well on to something big!” – Rock-City.co.uk

“Silicon Vultures have pulled no punches with their debut release, refused to submit to anything approaching the mainstream, and as such have produced a storming, desperately angry hardcore song that rips the energy from your body and replaces it with shock and awe.” – Digital Spy

“ Echoes of Sique Sique Sputnik, The Sex Pistols and At The Drive In….exciting, penetrating, bloody, new rock. 4.5 / 5” – download of the week, Manchester Review

“Highly influenced by PiL, Eno, The Birthday Party etc this three-piece are breaking down musical barriers…8/10” – Street Voice UK

“Silicon Vultures sound thoroughly unpleasant. And I mean that in the nicest possible way.” – Tasty Fanzine

“A filthy sexual vibe that would even get a raunchy dominatrix caving in under the immense pressure.” – The Mag

“There's a large range of words you can use to describe the debut single from this very little known band, and none of those words are boring.” - Rocklouder
